WHAT IS THE ‘Road to Recovery’ Oncology resource CENTER?

The Road to Recovery Resource Center is a dedicated space in the Oncology Department that provides comfortable and personal offerings like; massage, spa/facial offerings, care kits, journals, meals, snacks & beverages, personal wellness and activity items, information, and more. These offerings were selected by cancer patient feedback who participated in the 2023 Wellness and Support Survey with 860 participating cancer patients nationwide.

With this project, we aim to remove the barriers to access that patients face in receiving non-medical support services in rural communities. Onsite service offerings will help to make a difficult journey a little less so. A small effort can go an incredibly long way to making a big impact.

Where can i find a ‘Road to Recovery’ Oncology resource Center?

The Road to Recovery Resource Center was one of 11 funded projects from the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Community Partnership Program for 2023. Renamed and integrated into the existing resource center at Columbia Memorial Hospital. With this amazing funding, the ‘OHSU Collab Oncology Resource Center’ will become a reality at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, OR.
